Loved it. Better than the first in the series!! When will we get more of the series translated to English, please??!!Read this book after reading, "Syndrome E" by Thilliez. Enjoyed both. They are fast-moving and deal with current science-related issues such as evolution, insertion of viral DNA into human genome, and potential pandemic viral infections. Some aspects of plot are a bit of a stretch but who knows what the future may bring! Hope more of Thilliez' books will be translated from French.I loved Syndrome E and was definitely looking forward to reading the sequel, Bred to Kill. I ended up loving it even more than Syndrome E!The plot was so intricately weaved and totally unexpected. This author constantly keeps me guessing while I'm reading and it makes for a really fun reading experience. His characters are well-rounded and believable and after spending two books getting to know them, you really feel for them.I am so impressed with the research that the author obviously put into writing this. I work in a DNA related field and already have a fairly good understanding of the science involved but his explanations were detailed and interesting enough that anybody could understand it. It definitely opened my mind to possibilities that I hadn't considered. DNA is an amazing thing and the author took advantage of that in a great way.As it was in Syndrome E, some of the translation was a little strange, but that's a small thing to overcome given that the novel as a whole, is fantastic!I really enjoyed this one - almost more than his last book. It has a complex, scientific storyline while keeping the fast-paced drama going. There is quite a large amount of info regarding genetics and evolution, but in an easy to understand way. It's not often that you learn while reading a thriller like this, but you can't help taking away a new understanding of the sciences discussed. I also believe it's a more realistic thriller because everything is not perfectly tied up with happy endings - especially with the female main character. For a translated story, I thought it flowed well and the dialogue wasn't disjointed or unnatural sounding. I wish there was another story in the series to read, but if there is it hasn't been translated yet, so we'll just have to keep waiting!
