Rosamilia delivers a Sasquatch creature feature set in the unlikely state of New Jersey. The story takes place in the mid-80s, but the time period doesn't add any flavor to the otherwise straightforward story.The Beast is out and out pulp horror thriller. This is all man versus beast. No deep character development, so it's hard to really care or worry about the characters, but there is a bunch of kids in the cast, so you should have a vested interest in their well-being. The ending felt rushed but satisfying.All in all a solid story for fans of all things Severed Press. Rosamilia's Severed books could be considered a genre unto themselves or at least apart from his other thrillers and horror books.
