If you like scare-you-half-to-death mystery books this is the one for you. It starts with a bang and just doesn't stop." -- Ada Lavin"Un-put-downable! I cannot wait for this series to grow. If you love Sandford, Slaughter, Kava, Stelljes and Deaver, you’ll LOVE Vargus & McBain!" -- Melody M"Vargus and McBain have, in Violet Darger, created a character that absolutely stands up with some of the greats -- Phillip Marlowe, Dave Robicheaux, Elvis Cole, Charlie Parker, August Dupin, Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch, etc." -- Lucinda E. Snyder"If you liked Silence of the Lambs, you'll love Dead End Girl... At the same time, there's so much attention to detail and organic storytelling that this could easily compete with any of Stephen King's longer works. I found myself completely invested in every character, from the authorities to the killer to the victims themselves." -- eden Hudson"This book reminds me of some of my favorite books in the crime thriller genre - Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, The Collector by John Fowles, the Mr. Mercedes trilogy by Stephen King, and of course Silence of the Lambs. It's not a glimpse...it's a good long look inside the mind of a killer. It's fast paced, it's scary, and it's satisfying." -- Rain"If you are a fan of Silence of the Lambs, this book is a spiritual successor." -- Amazon customer"I devour each installment in this series the instant it is available." -- Shelley R. I never write book review but I couldn't hold back.I've been reading the L.T. Vargus & Tim McBain crime series showcasing FBI profiling agent's Violet Darger & Victor Loshak for three years after happening upon the then three book series, in a Kindle Unlimited book of the month. I read all three without pause! I then sought out everything these two amazing authors wrote, together or alone. (Which you never want to be while reading their work! "Girl in the Sand" scared me half to, well, you know. All are great, but this series is just exceptional.I'm a fan of mystery, suspense, horror and the (shudder) occasional beach vacation romance, but ILove a great serial killer? Who doesn't?This series doesn't let me down. Serial killers are the bread and butter for these hard working profilers. Touching on all my genre buttons. Although the romances here are not bodice rippers, but character development, which is where Lex and Tim really exceed. By the end of two chapters you know Victor or Violet well enough but at the end you feel like you know that Darger and Loshak are very real people, who I really hope are who investigates when someone we love dies under a crime filled umbrella. In this great latest book, our intrepid hero's are asked to help the investigation of deaths involving a cult, dumpster & landfill crime scenes and some very scary experiences in darkened tunnels. An addicting read and a great read all the way through. My only complaint is that they haven't yet come to Boston. We have all kinds of scary dark alleyways and nefarious citizens! No matter where the next book takes us, I'll be happily reading, just not alone in the dark....
